Poker Face of the Month: Donna Houle
Poker Face of the Month

Donna Houle started playing poker in 2005, when she asked her son to take her to play no limit hold'em for Mothers Day! She hasn’t looked back since, and is now very passionate about the game.

Donna started out by playing $2/$4 limit hold'em cash games, and slowly progressed to tournaments.

donnahThe first tournament she played in was an Oceans 11 Ladies event in September of 2008.  Seated right next to Donna was none other than the First Lady of Poker, Linda Johnson.  Linda and Donna discussed a poker training weekend at Linda’s Brian Head home in Utah.  Thus began Donna's poker training and her passion for poker grew.  Donna has trained with many professional players, such as,  Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Susie Isaacs, Annie Duke, Kristy Gazes, Tom McEvoy, Ari Engel, and David Chicotsky.  She has also learned to finesse her game at the WSOP Academy, WPT Boot Camp, and the High Heels Poker Tour Academy.

Donna's passion for poker became so intense that she wanted to share it with other ladies, and the Pink Ladies Poker Tour was born in January, 2010.  The Pink Ladies Poker Tour's main objective is to get women to the tables in a comfortable atmosphere, and then transition them to open events.  They offer a series of tournaments, including the "Hot Chix versus Big Slix" which is a tournament pitting the men against the women.  The Pink Ladies Poker Tour offers opportunities for women to win their seat to the WSOP ladies event throughout the year.  Soon they hope to have a female WSOP championship winner!

houlewinDonna has consistently cashed in many events, including the Eureka Open, Golden Nugget Grand Series, Caesars WSOP Circuit event and most recently the 2011 Binions Poker Classic.  Her most notable poker experience was finishing 10th in the 2009 World Series of Poker Ladies Event, which was the first WSOP event she entered.

Donna continues to promote women in poker and the Pink Ladies will be hosting many events in 2012.  While still maintaining her career as a paralegal, she plays poker part time as a hobby.  When she is not playing poker, she is enjoying spending time with her two grand daughters Holland and Ella, and traveling.  For more information on Donna, and her Pink Ladies Poker Tour, please visit the website here.
