This week, Amy and Jen are joined by poker player Maria Ho.  Maria really needs no introduction.  This charming and beautiful poker player is well known to be the last woman standing in the 2007 WSOP Championship Event.  Maria has career tournament winnings of over 400k.  She also appeared in The Amazing Race along with fellow poker player Tiffany Michelle.

Maria Ho was born in Taiwan and moved to the U.S. when she was only 4 years old.  Before turning poker pro, Maria's interests were mainly in the performing arts. She plays several instruments including the piano and violin, and she loved to sing and dance. 

Maria started playing recreational poker in 2002, when she was at the University of California where she graduated in 2005 with a major in Communications.  After graduation, Maria decided to try her skills at playing poker professionally.

In 2007, Maria became the last woman standing in the World Series of Poker Main Event, bringing home $237,865 for her efforts. Maria has eight World Series of Poker cashes and three World Poker Tour cashes to her name.

At the 2009 WSOP, Maria just missed the final table table in the 10k Limit Hold 'em Championship Event, finishing in 11th place. She also kept herself busy playing hostess and commentator for the World Series of Poker and ESPN 360. In 2009, she teamed up with poker professional Tiffany Michelle and compete on The Amazing Race television show. Her and Tiffany finished in sixth place.

Maria is also a philantropher and is involved with various charities; such as, Ronald McDonald House, The One Step Closer Foundation and the National Kidney Foundation.

Her latest accomplishment was coming in 10th in the WPT Bellagio Cup in July where she cashed for over 40k.  Maria has had a very successful career to date and we expect we will be seeing many more final tables from her.
