This week join Women's Poker Hour hosts Amy and Jennifer with special guest Poker pro Vanessa Peng. 

Vanessa has poker earnings of over 200k in 2010 alone. She is currently ranked top female in 60th place in Cardplayers OPOY rankings, and has over 500k in lifetime tournament winnings.

Vanessa is a School of Law graduate from Washington and Lee University.  She learned poker through a boyfriend who played.  She lost her first $25 she invested in a poker game and being competitive, she started searching through the online forms and poker sites and taught herself strategy and bankroll management.

She took a job at a small law firm in North Carolina and focussed on divorce cases, which she found depressing.  At the same time she started to make money playing poker and found that her poker earnings were very close to her earnings through law.  She realized then that law is not what she wanted to do with her life and she quit to pursue poker fulltime. 

Vanessa has cashed for more than $500,000 in her short two years of playing. She has now moved to Las Vegas and has goals of being the best poker player she can be.  We are fortunate to have Vanessa share her story and some poker strategy with our listeners. 

No doubt we can expect to hear much more about Vanessa in the future! (A great name for high-ranking poker women -  have you noticed?)
