WSOP Academy Participants Cydnie Joy, Colette Ward, Sally Boyer, Dana Reutter and Michele Lewis All Remain in the Hunt for a Bracelet at the 2007 World Series of Poker

Five participants from World Series of Poker Academy Ladies Event, the first ever instructional poker camp exclusively for women, have parlayed their camp experience this past Friday and Saturday into at least a $3,043 payday today as they move onto Day Two of the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Ladies World Championship at the 2007 World Series of Poker.

Cyndie Joy (75,300 in chips), Colette Ward (59,000), Sally Boyer (28,500), Dana Reutter (19,200), and Michele Lewis (15,100) each attended the two-day, sold-out WSOP Academy Ladies Event, which finished just a day ahead of the Ladies World Championship at the 2007 WSOP and featured instruction by world-class female poker players Annie Duke, Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh and Karina Jett. With only 65 players remaining out of a starting field of 1,286, all five WSOP Academy participants are still well within contention for winning the coveted WSOP bracelet and $262,077 first place prize.

The WSOP Academy will hosts its next event, the Main Event Primer, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, starting July 3 and ending July 5 – on the eve of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event. Spaces are
still available for the comprehensive, three-day poker school that is specifically designed to prepare participants for the WSOP Main Event, poker's richest and most prestigious competition. On hand as
instructors will be an unprecedented team of world class instructors, including past Main Event Champions Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer and Joe Hachem, multiple WSOP-bracelet winners Mark Seif and Scott
Fischman, Joe Navarro and many, many more.

At the end of the first day of the Main Event Primer, participants will receive VIP treatment at an exclusive Opening Night Party at PURE nightclub in Caesars Palace. The second day of the Academy will be capped with a private tournament where participants will battle it out for a $10,000 seat to the WSOP Main Event and other prizes. On the final day, another $10,000 seat to the Main Event will be given away in a shootout tournament where every player has an “Ask a Pro” card that they can use anytime to ask for advice in a critical situation. Finally, on the closing night, a special banquet will be
held that will include the final table of the first tournament, taking place on stage under the lights and cameras for all to watch.

Editor's note: Michele Lewis and Colette Ward are participating in the WSOP Academy on behalf of Woman Poker Player Magazine
