Poker Pros to Pay Visit to Middle East and Play Poker With Troops on USO Tour
Thursday, 07 April 2011 11:44

Five of today’s most renowned poker players will soon travel to the Middle East to uplift America’s Armed Forces as part of the first-ever USO/Armed Forces Entertainment poker tour.  Designed to bring a touch of home to troops, poker pros Howard Lederer, Annie Duke, Tom Dwan, Phil Hellmuth and Huck Seed will spend one week visiting troops, answering questions and spilling trade secrets.  The group will also sign autographs, pose for photos and teach military personnel how to play cards.

This is the first USO experience for each player with the exception of Lederer, who spent time with wounded warriors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2008.  During this visit, which was organized in part by the USO and the Poker Players Alliance, Lederer and a group of fellow players treated our nation’s heroes to an afternoon of fellowship, fun and, of course, poker.  More than 100 people attended the event dedicated to recovering soldiers.
