Melanie Weisner Leads EPT8 Copenhagen for Day 3

American pro Melanie Weisner leads a 72-strong field of players who'll be returning for Day 3 of the EPT Copenhagen Main Event tomorrow. The 25-year-old New Yorker has gone deep in several EPTs before, her best finish being 12th at EPT Prague in Season 6. She has also won two EPT Ladies Events including the €1,000 EPT6 Grand Final Ladies Event.

She goes into Day 3 with 368,200, with local player Simon Ravnsbæk chasing in second place with 320,800. American Kevin Iacofano, who came fourth here last season, is currently lying third with 305,200.

Also still in are Team PokerStars Pros Pierre Neuville, Luca Pagano, Johnny Lodden and Martin Staszko plus PokerStars Team Online's Mickey Petersen.

weisnerA total of 299 players from 35 countries competed in the EPT Copenhagen DKK 37,250 Main Event creating a total prize pool of of DKK 10,046,400 (approx. €1,351,000). First prize is DKK 2,515,000 (approx. €338,000) with 48 places being paid. With 82 players, Danes made up 27% of the field.

EPT Copenhagen is running February 20-25, 2012 at Casino Copenhagen in the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel. In addition to title and cash prize, the winner of EPT Copenhagen will receive a stunning bracelet from Shamballa Jewels worth more than €10,000. More than 40 players are taking part in the Last Longer contest being run by Skrill, the Official Payment Provider Sponsor for EPT Season 8.
