There are more women each and every day joining in on online poker. Right across the woman poker player community, you will see women from all walks of life that play various levels of poker. There are single women, married women, de-facto women, elderly women and college ladies. Not only do these lovely ladies of poker have poker in common, they have the common fact of bringing home some extra cash through the game we love.

Economic crunch time has hit the globe. Natural disasters and an overall economic slump has caused a great amount of stress on the average household income. This is one reason many women who are playing online poker are doing it to help their families. Certainly not all are winners and those who do win do not necessarily win a ton of cash. With the way things are though even $50 extra per month can assist a family or individual.

Many women who play online poker are stay at home single moms. Some stay at home mothers seem to have switched from non-financial activities after the children are settled at night time, to this sometimes profitable poker game. I spoke to a lady in the poker industry just last week from my own country of Australia who is a stay at home mum with a disability. She is a close friend of mine and I knew she had been financially struggling to overcome some extra bills. I was so happy to hear that she had been given some financial leeway in the past week through cashing out $1000 from playing online poker.

Many other women are doing the same. It is taking pressure of relationships and for those women in school, it is keeping them in the comfort of their own home as they supplement their income. This obviously means there is no need to work at store checkouts or fast food places causing them tiresome long hours which interfere with their daily study routines.  Not to mention the added burden and cost of transportation and clothing. The ladies who have opted to play a little online poker as they study or stay at home can plan the games as it suits their schedule.

Many people are needing extra cash to get ahead on mortgages or even purchase those little extras that they ordinarily wouldn’t be able to that makes life easier. This of course makes the family more at ease and is giving the women who even have that extra $50-$100  in their pockets a real feeling of accomplishment when it comes to helping her family. I myself was having an argument with my partner just the other day over how we were going to pay some big bills.  That night I cashed out online with enough to cover them.  Argument over and stress over.

There is a bonus when it comes to online poker winning for women who use this as a method of supplement. In most countries unless you are a professional gambler, or winning substantial amounts of money, this supplementary income does not class as taxable income.  You have to check the laws in your area to see if it applies to you.

A final note is that with all forms of “gambling” however, there are those that may go overboard and spend more then they win. To these people it is obvious that you should really be taking some free lessons and managing your bankroll correctly prior to playing.  There is a lot of information on this site and other places to learn more about poker and bankroll management. Poker really shouldn’t be a financial stress-or to your household income. Especially in these times and days!
