| Junior Achievement to Host Poker Tournament |

On Saturday, May 21st Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada will be holding their inaugural Poker Tournament at the Mirage Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip to raise funds to support their financial literacy programs offered for free to students throughout the Las Vegas Valley. The poker tournament will feature the world’s most popular poker game, Texas Hold’em and will begin at high noon.The first place winner will receive a seat at the 2011 World Series of Poker valued at $10,000. Additional prizes include vacation packages, show tickets, and more. Headlining celebrity players will be participating in the tournament as well as local celebrities and community leaders. A silent auction will also be held to help raise additional revenue to support Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. “In these tough economic times, it is more important than ever to teach our children healthy financial habits,” said Alan Diskin, President of Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. “Funds raised from this event will allow us to reach out to students to ensure they learn the basic financial literacy concepts they need to be prepared for their future,” he added.
The entrance fee for the tournament is $300 for 5,000 chips. Players can purchase an additional 5,000 chips for only $100 more. And if they register by April 29th they will receive an additional 1,000 chips. Players must be 21 years or older to participate. There will be a maximum of 300 participants in the tournament.
