The charity poker tournament benefiting the no-kill sanctuary will feature the exciting Poker Throw Down format. This action-packed individual and ten-player team competition will vie more than 100 poker pros, Hollywood celebrities, athletes, and industry VIPs against each other as they captain dozens of ten-player teams representing casinos, card rooms, leagues, sports clubs, and brands across the country. This highly anticipated event takes place during the Nevada State Poker Championship included in Heartland Poker Tour's (HPT) Season VII tour. The national television programming will air this fall available in over 100 million homes across America on a syndicated network including DIRECTV and Dish Network stations. The event is sponsored by Konami, IGT, FullTilt, and Curtis & Co Watches, ensuring all proceeds go to the charity.
The Poker Throw Down will award the top 10% of the playing field with valuable prizes. The top ten individual players will go on to participate in the HPT televised Nevada State Championship main event. The top three ten-player teams will receive team trophies, gift packs, and individual medals. All participants will compete for hundreds of bounties on poker pros and celebrities, "pot sweeteners," "Last Woman Standing," "Cracked Aces," "Most Re-Buys," and "On the Bubble" prizes.
