Tuesday, 05 October 2010 09:28

Anais Lerouge has won the EPT London £500 Ladies Event for a first prize of £11,050. Anais, who comes from Cannes, France, bested a 57-strong field that included Team PokerStars Pros Veronica Dabul, Sandra Naujoks and Celina Lin plus Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo, EPT presenter Michelle Orpe, PokerStars-sponsored gamer Charlotte van Brabander, British pro Maria Demetriou and Claire Renaut, who just 91st place in the Main Event.

The total prize pool was £27,645. Six places were paid. Anais was already the massive chip leader when, with three players left, she hit pocket jacks. British player Zena Bensly had KK, and Stine Marie Bringsli from Norway had A2. Both went all-in but a Jack on the flop gave Anais the set - and EPT London Ladies Event champion's title.

Anais, who freelances as a tournament dealer across Europe including European Poker Tour events, has been playing poker for around three and a half years. Her best result was in September when she came place to Raul Paez at the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event in Cannes. She won €68,050. Anais is the girlfriend of French pro Antoine Saout, who came third at the 2009 World Series of Poker. The Ladies Events are part of the EPT London Poker Festival.
