World Team Poker Announces New Teams

World Team Poker has added several new countries to the international organization’s line up of 30 national teams.  New team captains join the league’s poker superstars from the ranks of the world’s top players.

World Team Poker is an international sports organization with teams and players drawn from around the globe.  Team captains select professional players who represent their national team.  They play in a series of competitions for a lucrative prize purse and the distinction of winning the World Team Poker Championship.

Growing from eight teams playing in the inaugural tournament held in May at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, World Team Poker will be featured in a new television series broadcast by Fox Sports Net.  The series is set to air on Sunday nights beginning January 2, 2011 for a 13 week run.
