Federated Sports and Gaming and the Palms Casino Resort announced today a modified schedule for the first season of their professional poker league tournaments. The format of the tournaments will remain the same, and, as previously announced, each event week will include a Pro-Am event, a charity tournament, and a $20,000 rake-free Main Event. The decision to modify the schedule was made out of respect for the poker community at large and to make it easier for the top live event players to participate in as many events as possible. The original schedule was set prior to the announcement of the 2011 dates for several other important live poker tournaments.
“The poker calendar is increasingly crowded and we will do our part to minimize, as much as possible, scheduling conflicts and the overlap among key live events,” said Annie Duke, Commissioner of the new Federated League. As previously announced, all league events will take place at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
